October health events slated for Reno, Fallon

Staff Report

nevada women’s expo

The Nevada Women’s Expo will be held this weekend at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno.

The theme is Women’s Health and Wellness. Many new and returning vendors will be participating in this year’s event. Sports West will be there too presenting a variety of energetic fitness demonstrations.

This year the Nevada Women’s Expo is giving back to Esther’s Closet, sponsor of Hosanna Home and Leah’s House. This local non-profit supports homeless women and children and is the chosen beneficiary of the two-day show. Other nonprofits participating will be Blue Star Mothers of America, United Blood Services, Northern Nevada HotSpot, ACB Cooperative, Revivals Health & Wellness Council, Girls on the Run and more.

“Self-awareness and early detection saved my life, I encourage all women to attend and hear an informative discussion on genetic testing for breast cancer by a local doctor and geneticist,” said Joye Kinkade, co-producer of the Expo and a breast cancer survivor.

The Nevada Women’s Expo is the premier consumer show for women of all ages, lifestyles and businesses that market to them. This dynamic event takes place twice-yearly, offering women the best in fashion, style, health, careers, business, lifestyle, entertainment and more!

Participating exhibitors bring unique products and services from Lake Tahoe, California, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and beyond.
