A rain-soaked track didn’t stop the Churchill County Middle School track teams from a dominating performance on Wednesday at the Edward Arciniega Complex.

The Greenwave’s sixth-grade girls swept the seventh-grade divisions and the eighth-grade girls all picked up team wins at a Sagebrush league meet. The sixth-grade boys crown went to Fernley Intermediate School and Silverland Middle School (Fernley) slipped past Fallon, 115-114, for the victory.

Emily Marshall earned top three finishes in the 400-meter and triple jump plus helped lead the 4×200 relay team to a win.

Lexcie Montgomery was third in the discus and in the top five for shot put. Aspen Mori was in the top five in the 100, while Kera Balke was under 8 minutes in the 1,600.

Karlee Hitchcock, McKenna Hanks, Mori and Madison Guerrero won the 4×100 relay, while Marshall, Hanks, Mori and Savannah Robinson took first in the 4×200 relay.

The 4×400 relay team of Balke, Tiffany Larson, Kiara Verdugo and Marshall finished second.
