Buoyed by the success of last fall’s community production of “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,” The Arts Center sponsored by Rising Sun Gallery presents a twist to an old favorite this weekend at the Churchill County High School Theater.

Written by Phil Casanta and John Blomberg, “Sleeping Beauty — A Tale Told Slightly Off the Wall” offers a different perspective to the classic originally penned by the Brothers Grimm and refined by the late Hollywood animator, Walt Disney.

The original is a classic fairy tale involving a beautiful princess and a handsome prince who kisses her to break a spell.

This weekend’s showing is tonight at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and tickets are available at the door or at Rising Sun Gallery, 203 S. Maine St. Call 775-294-4135 or 775-410-0571 for information.
