The Churchill County School Board awarded at their Thursday night meeting a contract to Q&D Construction for building a high school auxiliary gym.

Paul Eskeldson, construction manager, said Q&D Construction would be responsible for creating a schedule for completing the project, developing a budget, evaluating the design for conformance with the budget, supporting the design team’s identifying and selecting materials to be used and providing recommendations on the construction of the design.

“We put out the contract and received six bids back for the project,” Eskeldson said. “The district’s selection committee reviewed the proposals against certain criteria and identified four of them to a short-list for interviews.”

Interviews were held and focused on certain questions that were on the Interview Evaluation Criteria form, he said.

Eskeldson said the committee acknowledged Q&D Construction as the best firm based on the interview results.
