The University of Nevada’s #PopulatePeccole campaign — an effort to sell out the April 26 baseball game and make Peccole Park the 15th largest city in Nevada — is off to a strong start.
The Wolf Pack has sold nearly half of the stadium with 1,599 tickets out for Nevada’s game against San José State on April 26 at 1 p.m.
The Wolf Pack is hoping to fill the 3,136 capacity stadium for the first sell out in Peccole Park history. Nevada sold 1,000 tickets in 24 hours in its initial #PopulatePeccole launch.
Fans can call 775-348-PACK for tickets or visit http://nevadawolfpack.com/tickets. Reserved seats are still available for $11 and behind home plate seating is available for $13. The first 500 fans have to arrive at Peccole will receive a free T-shirt.
Three groups are invited to attend as the game will also be Little League Day, Baseball Alumni Day and Camper Reunion Day.
Nevada is off to one of its best starts in program history and is currently ranked 26th in the nation out of 295 Division I teams. The Wolf Pack (9-3 Mountain West, 23-5 overall) are yet to lose a series this season and are one game off the lead in Mountain West standings.
Nevada hosts instate rival UNLV today and Saturday to cap a three-game series against the Rebels. First pitch today is at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday at Peccole Park. Thursday result against UNLV was not available at press time.
The Pack then hosts San Francisco on Monday at 6 p.m. before taking on the Triple-A Reno Aces at 6 p.m. at Aces Ballpark in Reno.
