Actors and crew members are sought for a student film being produced through the Brewery Arts Center’s Northern Nevada Film Factory.

Carson High School senior Luke Holden wrote and is directing a five-minute film that blends in 3D animation about high school students who have to battle creatures that escaped from video games.

Auditions are 2:30 p.m. Monday at the high school’s Black Box Theatre and are open to the public.

Filming is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday at Carson High School. It is co-sponsored by Karen Chandler and the Carson High Drama Club.

“The Brewery Arts Center through its filmmaking club is creating a filmmaking capability in the region open to youth and adults of all ages,” said Donna Walden, who was hired by BAC to run the club and expand animation and filmmaking workshops, programs and offerings.

“We are delighted that the high school is involved in helping its community learn filmmaking. We intend to work hand-in-hand with educators at all levels to expand arts in the community.”

In the movie, two brothers discover a way to open a porthole from reality into the virtual world, through the crazy inventions they built in their garage.

The two brothers are able to get into any video game they want, but there is a malfunction.

Many creatures and villains break out from the virtual world and head to Carson City. Eventually, the creatures come to Carson High and cause chaos in the hallways and classrooms of the school.

Candidates should be prepared for a cold read from the script and should bring a current head shot or picture if possible.
