Amodei elected state Republican chairman
RENO (AP) – The Nevada Republican Party has a new chairman.
State Sen. Mark Amodei of Carson City was elected to the top spot Saturday at a meeting in Reno of the Nevada Republican Central Committee.
He replaces Chris Comfort, who resigned in March.
Amodei’s term begins immediately. He’ll be up for re-election in late 2011.
In a statement, Amodei says he’s looking forward to working with the state staff, county organizations and Republicans around the state.
