Angle: Utah’s Sen. Bennett ‘outlived’ usefulness
LAS VEGAS (AP) – Nevada U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle says Utah Sen. Bob Bennett has “outlived his usefulness.”
Days after Bennett predicted Angle’s candidacy would flop, the Republican nominee and tea party favorite told a Fox News interviewer Monday that the outgoing Bennett is an elitist who lost touch with voters.
Angle said she’s among “the mainstream Americans who believe … Sen. Bennett has outlived his usefulness.”
Bennett was ousted in a May primary in Utah.
Bennett told The Associated Press on Friday that Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry would likely defeat Angle in Nevada.
Bennett also badmouthed the tea party movement that played a role in his defeat and is backing Angle in Nevada.
