Big rig slams into house; trucker killed
FALLON (AP) – A tractor trailer driver was killed when his big rig drifted off a rural Nevada highway and slammed into an unoccupied house.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says 57-year-old Larry D. Chance of Reno was driving a Peterbilt tractor-trailer west on U.S. 50 when the rig drifted off the road edge about five miles west of Fallon.
The rig traveled on the dirt shoulder before striking a single-story house adjacent to the four-lane highway just after noon Thursday.
Authorities say Chance was taken by ambulance to Churchill County Community Hospital in Fallon where he died.
