Settelmeyer speaking at next NBC breakfast

State Senator-elect James Settelmeyer will address the upcoming legislative session at the next Nevada Business Connections breakfast meeting on Nov. 17.

Doors open at 7:30 a.m. inside the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St. Cost is $20 for members and $30 for guests.

Chris Bayer of CASA of Carson City also will speak on the giving season.

Prosthetic company hosting cleanup day

Prosthetic Consulting Technologies, LLC, a small prosthetic company in Washoe Valley, is hosting a clean up day as part of the Keep Truckee Beautiful project.

The events happens on Friday where participants can help clean up E. Lake Boulevard from Jumbo Grade to Cottontail Lane, southbound.

The company said it also wants to show that disabled people can also help in the cleanup. All participants will be treated to a breakfast at the Postal Cafe.

Prosthetic Consulting Technologies, LLC is owned by Richard Riley, and his technicians are amputees. Combined they bring more than 100 years experience of living as an amputee to their work. For more information visit or call 775-849-0958.

Competitive cheerleading team starting in Carson City

A new competitive cheerleading club is accepting sign-ups through Nov. 13

Capital Elite All-Stars is located at 3031 Deer Run Road. Competitive cheerleading includes tumbling, dance, stunting and jumps to create a stage performance. Ages 6-18 are accepted. For more information call 775-450-0864.
