Carson City Free and Accepted Masons to install officers
The Carson Lodge No. 1 of Free and Accepted Masons has scheduled its annual installation of officers. This marks the 154th installation of officers in Carson Lodge history. The installation will take place at Carson Lodge No. 1, 113 East Washington Street, Carson City, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2
This annual installation of officers is open to the public. All those interested in Freemasonry are invited to attend and take a tour of the Lodge. Carson Lodge No. 1 was the first Freemason Lodge in Nevada and has operated continually since 1862 when it was chartered first in California, then in Nevada when it first became a state.
Carson Lodge No. 1 F&AM meets in the yellow building on the corner of Carson Street and East Washington Street. This historical building has a rich heritage as it was first used as the train station for Carson City. The building is on the National Historic Register for Historic Buildings.
New Worshipful Master Terry Edis invites all men interested in Freemasonry to visit the Lodge to find out more about the fraternity. “Carson Lodge No. 1 has dedicated countless hours and financial assistance to our community for over 150 years. Our commitment to Carson City’s youth continues with high school scholarships, our support of Rainbow Girls and our efforts to assist Safe Grad. Please join us as we move into a new year of philanthropy in Carson City,” Edis said.
