Carson City health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for May 19. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Carson Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive, scored 100 points.

Firkin & Fox, smoking bar, 310 S. Carson St., Suite 100, 100 points.

Grocery Outlet, 1831 N. Carson St., 100 points.

Mi Casa Too, 3809 N. Carson St., 100 points.

Ming’s Restaurant, bar and lounge, 2330 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Quik Stop Markets, Inc., 3006 N. Roop St., 100 points.

Firkin & Fox, restaurant, 310 S. Carson St., Suite 100, 99 points. The floor sink near the kitchen was dirty. The area around the dishwasher was littered with debris and broken glass.

MJ’s Sports Bar, 3679 S. Carson St., 99 points. The floor behind the bar was dirty.

Carson Stadium Cinemas, 2571 N. Carson St., 98 points. Interior surfaces of the main ice machine were dirty. Sticky buildup and biofilm growth was found on some areas behind the soda dispenser nozzles.

Galaxy Fandango, 4000 S. Curry St., 98 points. Biofilm was found around the interior ice chutes on both ice machines.

Slotworld, Betsy’s Cafe, 3879 E. Highway 50, 97 points. The meat slicer was dirty. The two-compartment sink was not cleaned properly. Walls in the kitchen, dish washing area and near the service counter needed to be cleaned. Shelving at the front service counter needed to be cleaned. A buildup of grease was found inside the fryer units. Ceiling light shields in the grill area were dusty and needed to be cleaned.

Firkin & Fox, main kitchen, 310 S. Carson St., Suite 100 97 points. Two ice scoop storage containers were dirty. The floor around the main ice machine was wet and dirty; the mop sink was also dirty.

Ming’s Restaurant, restaurant, 2330 S. Carson St., 94 points. Sushi cases were missing thermometers inside, corrected on site. Prepared foods — ready to be cooked — were stored in cloth napkins in one of the reach-ins opposite the grills. A knife was stored against dirty surfaces between two reach-ins. Areas underneath handles, on top of doors, and gaskets inside doors on all reach-ins were dirty. The two-door reach-in at the drink station needed to be cleaned. There was grease and food buildup between the fryer and grill units and the reach-in units opposite the grills. The non-food contact areas of the slicer were not clean. Areas on both sides of the two kitchen doors were missing coving. A wall was damaged from water exposure.
