• 12:03 p.m.: Michael Scott Hopper, a 47-year-old transient construction worker, was arrested after turning himself in at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office on a felony failure-to-appear warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $25,000.

• 6:55 p.m.: A 56-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2200 block of Utah Street on suspicion of domestic battery. The man allegedly held a woman to prevent her from leaving the home. The suspect, who reportedly registered .12 blood alcohol content, told deputies he’d had an argument with the woman. “I have been drinking, and that is the truth serum,” he said, according to the arrest report. “So I told her what was wrong with her.” When she tried to leave, he allegedly squeezed her tightly and refused to let go. Bail was set at $3,139.

• Mario Moreno, 27, a transient, was arrested in the 200 block of Jeanell Drive on suspicion of felony probation violation and felony sex offender failure to register. Bail was set at $2,500.

• 11:14 p.m.: A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 20 block of College Parkway on suspicion of defrauding an innkeeper. The man allegedly hailed a taxi cab, but could not tell the driver where he lived, then became belligerent and called the driver names. When police arrived, the man was reportedly passed out in the front seat. When deputies woke him, he reportedly pretended not to hear them, refusing to produce identification or a home address. He also refused to pay the $7 cab fee, saying he had no money. Bail was set at $412.
