Carson City Sheriff’s Log: Inmate arrested on suspicion of felony battery
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
7:39 p.m.: James Daniel Buckles, 50, of Carson City was arrested at Rand Avenue and Camille Drive on suspicion of felony possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, license improperly displayed and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was a 49-year-old Carson City woman, on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to their arrest report, a deputy noticed that their vehicle’s rear license plate light was out. The deputy pulled the vehicle over and called in a drug-sniffing dog, which reportedly alerted him to the presence of drugs. Deputies reportedly found a small jar of marijuana, a marijuana pipe, a methamphetamine pipe, a scale and a morphine pill. Total bail was set at $3,525 for Buckles and $1,600 for the woman.
8:30 a.m.: Billy Harris, 67, of Carson City was arrested at the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony battery by a prisoner. According to Harris’ arrest report, two inmates told a jail employee that Harris was making racist comments and had punched one of them. Bail was set at $20,000.
10:12 p.m.: An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1200 block of Parkland Drive on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,000.
10:51 p.m.: A 21-year-old Sacramento man was arrested in the 2200 block of East William Street on suspicion of obstructing, seat belt required and violation of a suspended sentence. According to the man’s arrest report, a deputy saw his vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, then noticed he wasn’t wearing a seat belt. The man reportedly didn’t have ID, but the deputy learned he was wanted in Carson City and Lyon County. Total bail was set at $3,325.
The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies, violent crimes and DUIs.
