Carson City Sheriff’s Log: Man transported from California on trafficking charge

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

TUESDAY

Gary Lee Taylor, 35, was arrested on a warrant charging him with trafficking a controlled substance at 11:30 a.m. after he was returned to Nevada from Concord, Calif. He was also charged with failure to appear. He was ordered held without bail.

A 53-year-old Carson man was arrested on charges of being intoxicated in public after he was reportedly lying in the traffic lane of South Carson Street near Eagle Station. A passerby pulled him to the sidewalk before deputies arrived at 12:14 p.m. Bail was set at $87.

A 20-year-old Carson man was arrested on charges of failure to appear in a traffic case at 2:12 p.m. Bail was set at $9,498.

A 21-year-old Carson man was charged with petit larceny and possession of stolen property after allegedly trying to pawn stolen knives. The reporting party told deputies he saw the defendant take knives from his store, then walk to Carson City Jewelry and Loans to try to sell them. The estimated value of the knives was set at $245. Bail was set at $500.

A 47-year-old Carson City man was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery at 5:41 p.m. after reportedly throwing a picture frame at his boyfriend. The victim suffered a cut on his head during the incident at their East 5th Street apartment. The defendant also accidentally cut himself. Bail was set at $3,000.

A 28-year-old car salesman was charged with misdemeanor DUI after a traffic stop at North Plaza and East Ann streets at 10:57 p.m. The deputy’s report said the car was traveling north on Carson Street and driving erratically, accelerating to high speed as it passed the deputy’s vehicle. In addition, the driver was charged with careless driving, no proof of insurance, violating alternative sentencing restrictions. He was ordered held without bail because of a parole and probation hold from Reno.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies, violent crimes and DUIs.
