Carson City Sheriff’s Log: Woman arrested on report of destruction of evidence

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:


A 24-year-old Carson City woman was booked on a misdemeanor charge of failure to pay fines in a traffic case at 9:02 a.m. The arrest followed a traffic stop at Mayflower Way and Sherman Lane. Bail was set at $248, cash only.

A 54-year-old Sparks man was booked on three separate traffic warrants at 9:38 a.m. following a traffic stop in the 800 block of Fairview Drive. The Carson City warrant has a $1,658 bail. The two Sparks traffic warrants have a total of $1,880 in bail.

A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested for driving on a revoked drivers’ license following a traffic stop at noon in the 1600 block of Brown. The defendant’s license was revoked following a DUI conviction and not due to be reinstated until January 23. Bail was set at $1,000.

A 40-year-old was jailed at 2:27 p.m. after turning himself in on warrants charging contempt of court and violating conditions of a suspended sentence. Total bail was set at $1,500.

Cherissa Kizer, 42, was arrested on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and destruction of evidence during the process of investigating Thursday night’s shooting on Desatoya Drive. As the deputy prepared to handcuff one suspect who had an outstanding justice court warrant, he handed her items from his pockets. The report says she dropped something that sounded like glass and then step on it. The deputy wrote that he found a broken meth pipe where she had been standing. She was ordered held in lieu of $2,500 on a gross misdemeanor charge of destruction of evidence and $1,000 for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested on charges of obstructing an officer at 7:35 p.m. on Desatoya. He reportedly became agitated when handcuffed and the report says refused to cooperate with deputies. Bail was set at $300.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies, violent crimes and DUIs.
