Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on suspicion of felony principal to theft in Douglas County

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 11 a.m., a 76-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of charges he stole cash form another patron’s wallet at Costco. He was charged with petit larceny after security recovered $457 in cash for the victim and returned her wallet. He was ordered held in lieu of $250 bail.

At 5:03 p.m., a 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of contempt of court and petit larceny after Walmart security accused him of getting deli chicken and eating it while walking around the store. He was arrested after leaving the store. His bail was set at $750.

At 6:36 p.m., Tyler Lawson, 26, was ordered held without bail on two felony counts — a parole violation and an FTA — after he was detained by Walmart security for allegedly shoplifting items from the store totaling $98.

At 7:28 p.m., a 26-year-old woman was charged with DUI-second after a traffic stop on North Carson Street. She also was charged with violation of a suspended sentence. Bail was set at $3,500.

At 10:04 p.m., a 33-year-old handyman was booked on a charge warrant charging him with domestic battery-first after deputies were called to an apartment on Winnie Lane. He was held in lieu of $3,000 bail.

FRIDAY

At 1:34 a.m., Jerett McAlister, 33, was arrested at the Comstock Casino on warrants issued in Douglas County charging felony principal to a theft, a gross misdemeanor taking of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor violations of contempt and violating pre-trial supervision. Total bail was set at $9,500.

At 1:45 a.m., a 63-year-old transient was arrested on a charge he violated the no alcohol condition of his suspended sentence. He was walking in the area of Fall and Adams streets when the deputy stopped him. Bail was set at $1,000.
