Carson City teen sought in stabbing, shooting
A 17-year-old Carson teen is being sought after allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend in her shoulder then shooting at her father after an argument last night.
According to Detective Dena Lacy, John “Nubs” Linville, 17, is being sought for questioning following the 9:30 p.m. altercation on Walker Drive in East Carson City.
Lacy said Linville went to the girl’s house after telling friends he intended to kill her.
She said that when Linville stabbed the girl in the shoulder, the girl’s father intervened and Linville allegedly pulled out a gun he’d taken from a friend’s house.
Linville and the father, Ed Beaumont, 56, struggled over the weapon, but despite the gun going off while pointed directly at Beaumont’s chest the bullet did not injure him. Instead it just left a powder burn on his T-shirt, said Sheriff Ken Furlong.
“Explain that one, ” Furlong said incredulously.
The girl’s suffered a minor stab wound.
Linville then allegedly fled on foot and law enforcement officers have been searching for him through the night.
Linville is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall with dark hair and blue eyes. He was born with one arm. He has a tattoo on his right wrist and a banner under his collar bone. He has large gauges in his ears.
Anyone with information on Linville’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
Secret Witness also offers up to $2,500 in reward money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons committing crimes. To leave an anonymous tip on Linville’s whereabouts and become eligible for a reward, call 322-4900.
