Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center celebrates fifth anniversary
Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center celebrated its fifth anniversary with a party Friday, attended by more than 100 hospital employees and friends, and the first baby born there. CEO Ed Epperson spoke about some of the successes the hospital has seen over the past five years, including more than 5,000 babies born, 55,000 inpatients treated and 675 open heart surgeries. The hospital earned the honor of having the state’s only freestanding cancer center with national accreditation and commendation. It’s also the only hospital in Nevada to receive a Five Star quality rating in Cardiac Surgery.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Pete Livermore, spoke about significance of the hospital in the community and introduced the first baby born at the new facility, Kiley McGrew. The room sang happy birthday to Kiley and she blew out the candles.
