The Carson City Sheriff’s department was contacted shortly after 10 p.m. Monday to pay a visit to 777 Silver Oak Drive.
When a police arrived, Higuera’s 6-year-old nephew answered the door. The nephew allegedly told police that Higuera, who was not in the residence, had been drinking since 4 p.m.
Inside the home, police found trash on the floor, piled up in the sink area as well as kitchen knives and a pair of scissors in the open. According to the report, an open beer can also was within the child’s reach.
About two hours later, a visibly intoxicated Higuera showed up to the front door with her 3-year-old niece, according to police.
