Celebration of Bike Week continues
Mickey McDowell, manager of the Bike Smith, hosted a clinic Tuesday on how to change a flat tire on a bicycle. The clinic was one of several events going on as part of Bike to Work week this week.
Activities will continue this evening with the Downtown Family Cruiser Ride at 6 p.m. in Telegraph Square. The ride will go through downtown Carson City and end at The Firkin & Fox, 310 S. Carson St. Costumes are encouraged.
Friday will be Carson City’s official Bike to Work Day. All Carson City Starbucks as well as Comma Coffee will be offering free coffee for bike commuters from 7-9 a.m.
The day will conclude with a party and raffle at The Firkin & Fox. There will be a bike giveaway, award ceremony and musical guest James Wilsey will be performing solo acoustic guitar.

Secret Witness turns 40 this year – and it’s helped solve many of Northern Nevada’s most violent crimes
Secret Witness tips have played a pivotal role in solving some of the most violent crimes the greater Northern Nevada region has seen. To date, Secret Witness has paid out more than $300,000 in rewards to anonymous tipsters. Rewards range from $50 (graffiti/tagging) to $1,500 (armed robbery) to $2,500 (murder).
