The coalition was formed in response to a State of Nevada Health Division request for local stakeholder input on the issue of obesity facilitated by the Nevada Public Health Foundation.
“We are so excited about the coalition developing in response to our help to create a state obesity plan,” said Rota Rosaschi, coalition chairwoman and Nevada Public Health Foundation Executive Director.
If you would like to volunteer for a committee or join the coalition please contact me at 887-0417 ext. 106 or e-mail me at email@example.com.
The coalition committees are nutrition, physical activity, gardening, youth, fund raising, media and chronic disease.
A Web site for the coalition will be online soon. The next meeting is 7:30-9 a.m. June 7 at the Great Basin Primary Care Association agency located at 515 W. Fourth Street, Carson City, Nevada.
