Nevada Appeal Staff Report

Coin dealers from the region are inside the Carson Nugget today and tomorrow for the inaugural Downtown Coin Club Coin Show.

The show features 24 coin dealers, a raffle and free appraisals. There also is free admission for children, who will receive 25 free coins.

“It’s to promote the hobby in children,” said Trish Wilson, co-owner of Downtown Coin, adding she expects more than 400 people to attend the event.

She said about 30 volunteers from the Downtown Coin Club are working at the show, which costs $2 to enter or $1 with coupon. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Nevada State Museum and Carson Senior Center.

The show lasts from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The raffle winners will be announced at 3 p.m. First prize is a $5 gold Liberty coin.
