Cooks sought for Chili on the Comstock
Calling all cooks and culinary connoisseurs, the annual festival honoring the hot and spicy qualities of red and green chilies comes back to Virginia City, May 8. It’s the 27th annual Chili on the Comstock.
The Regional Cook-Off is sanctioned by the International Chili Society (ICS) and takes place
10 a.m.-5 p.m. right in the middle of “C” Street between Union and Taylor streets.

virginiacitynnv.com and download a set of rules and the official entry forms.
All applications and entry fees must be received no later than May 1.

Secret Witness turns 40 this year – and it’s helped solve many of Northern Nevada’s most violent crimes
Secret Witness tips have played a pivotal role in solving some of the most violent crimes the greater Northern Nevada region has seen. To date, Secret Witness has paid out more than $300,000 in rewards to anonymous tipsters. Rewards range from $50 (graffiti/tagging) to $1,500 (armed robbery) to $2,500 (murder).
