• Catch the antics of Peter Cottontail at the Governor’s Field Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by the Carson City Kiwanis International.

A local tradition, the event consists of two Easter Egg Hunts today. The Easter Egg Hunt designed for special-needs children starts at 11 a.m. and allows children who need a little assistance the time and space to get in the hunt. The official hunt will begin at 1 p.m. Prizes will be given in specially marked eggs.

• Egg Hunt at Johnson Lane Park, begins 9 a.m. at the park across from Piñon Hills Elementary School.

• Annual Hunt. The Carson Valley Active 20-30 Club will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. at Lampe Park. The hunt takes place with three different age groups broken down as ages 0-3, 4-6 and 7-11. Each age group has a chance at prize eggs as well as a Golden Egg that awards a savings bond. Meet the Easter Bunny and have your picture taken. The event is free.

• A Kid’s Easter Egg Hunt, 1 p.m. at the Walker Community Park sponsored by the Antelope Valley Lions Club. The hunt will be divided by age groups, so everyone will have a good chance to find the prize eggs. Arrive early to sign up.

• First Baptist Church, 1053 Wildwood Ave., in South Lake Tahoe, will sponsor an Easter egg hunt at the church. Toddlers through fifth-graders are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Everyone is invited to join the Easter Sunday celebration service at 11 a.m. The children’s Easter egg hunt will be immediately following. Toddlers will be inside the church and the older children will hunt outside. Call (530) 544-2743.
