Fallon man killed in wreck

Nevada Appeal Staff Report

FALLON – A Fallon man was killed and another injured in an accident Tuesday morning on Highway 50 East eight miles east of Fallon.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Matt Kaplan, an eastbound red 2005 Nissan pickup veered into the westbound lanes, then back into the eastbound lanes, striking an eastbound silver 2005 Toyota Highlander driven by Sidney Ellen Imeson, 50, of Fallon. The impact sent both vehicles off the road, and each rolled over, one landing on its wheels and the other on its side on a small bluff.

The driver of the Nissan, a 57-year-old Fallon man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Imeson was taken to Banner Churchill Memorial Hospital in Fallon. His condition was not available.

This was the second fatal automobile accident in Churchill County in two weeks. A Navy sailor on leave from San Diego was killed on June 22 when he was ejected from a vehicle that rolled over into a ditch along Wildes Road.
