FDIC sending foreclosure specialist to Nevada

Nevada Appeal Staff Report

While pressure continues to mount on the commercial real estate market, state Treasurer Kate Marshall said Tuesday that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation will send a “point person” to Nevada to help small businesses, Realtors and financial institutions.

The plan is for the FDIC to provide direct help to the commercial real estate market and its players as more commercial properties go into foreclosure.

The so-called point person is Ray Rudnicki, whose contact information will be available at http://www.nevada

treasurer.gov.

Marshall has been meeting with elected officials, Realtors and financial institutions for months about the commercial real estate market, said spokesman Steve George. Marshall also met with FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair earlier this year.
