Forecast is patchy fog and low clouds

Drive carefully on surface streets, some may still have areas of snow and ice.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:55 a.m. all routes are open with no controls with the following exceptions:

SR88 ” Chains required except for 4-wheel-drive vehicles fo 50 miles between Dew Drop, Calif. and 1.1 miles west of Woodfords.

SR89 ” Chains required except for 4-wheel-drive vehicles for 7.7 miles between 2.8 miles north of US 50 at Bliss State Park and SR 28 at Tahoe City.

SR431 ” Snowtires or chains required for 17 miles between SR 28 and 7.5 miles south of junction US 395.

Many surface streets in Carson City have ice and snow. Drive carefully.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays. There is continued work on Fairview Drive from South Edmonds to South Carson Street with lane closures and possible delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.

Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.

Today’s weather will have areas of patchy freezing fog and areas of low clouds in the morning, otherwise sunny with highs 21-31 with southeast winds up to 10 mph.

Tonight, partly cloudy with lows 5-15 with light winds.

Thursday, mostly cloudy in the morning then cloudy with a slight chance of snow in the afternoon. Highs 25-35 with southwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.
