Gibbons particpates in Wreaths Across American

Amy Lisenbe/Nevada Appeal St. Teresa School fourth-graders Jacob Sheldon, center, and Grace Bayliss, right, help Governor Jim Gibbons place a wreath on the Nevada Capitol steps to honor veterans and active military duty on Monday morning as part of the Wreaths Across America Project.

Wreath ceremonies were performed in several other state capitols Monday to begin a week of veteran remembrance, culminating with annual wreath ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., and over 250 veterans’ cemeteries across the nation on Dec. 15. The Battle Born Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution sponsored Carson City’s wreath ceremony.
