Girl dead, Canadian family hurt in crash in Nevada
LOVELOCK (AP) – The Nevada Highway Patrol says a 15-year-old girl died and four other family members from Alberta, Canada, were hurt in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in northern Nevada.
The NHP says three children were thrown from the silver Nissan Pathfinder when it swerved off the road and rolled over about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Pershing County, some 17 miles east of Lovelock.
The four survivors are taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno with unspecified injuries. Their names were not made public.
Troopers say an initial investigation suggests a tire blew out and the driver lost control of the vehicle.
