Jacks Valley Staples closing Jan. 3

Nevada Appeal staff report

The Jacks Valley Staples is telling customers that it will be closing Jan. 3.

The store will be the second large retail outlet to leave the shopping center at Highway 395 and Jacks Valley. Ross Dress For Less moved out of its Jacks Valley location in the Target Center last winter, reopened at Southgate shopping center in March.

Staples customers are being directed to the store locations in Reno and South Lake Tahoe.

In March, Staples announced it would close 140 of its underperforming North America stores, according to Reuters News Service. Eighty of those stores were closed in the second quarter the wire service reported.

The office supply store has been open in Douglas County since October 2001.
