Las Vegas gets more rain this week than all of ’09

LAS VEGAS (AP) – Las Vegas has received more rain this week than in all of 2009.

So far Las Vegas has gotten 1.69 inches of rainfall. The valley ended 2009 with 1.59 inches of rain.

On Thursday alone Las Vegas saw 0.89 inches of rain, a record for any single day in January.

Precipitation was expected to taper off, with no rain was forecast Saturday through Monday.

National Weather Service forecaster John Adair said flood advisories for Clark County had been removed. Water levels for the Muddy River, near Moapa Valley, peaked and levels were expected to fall.
