Man must repay $30,000 in bad checks
A Carson City man who wrote more than $30,000 in bad checks was given a suspended sentence in Carson District Court on Monday.
Brian Keith Jackson, 43, was ordered to repay checks that bounced after his bank account was closed. At the time Jackson was unable to cover the amount of eight bad checks.
When he was arrested in January 1998, authorities believed Jackson wrote as much as $650,000 in bad checks.
If he doesn’t complete the repayment plan on schedule, Jackson may have to serve as much as four years in prison.
