Minor injuries reported in Silver Springs accident

Cathleen Allison/Nevada Appeal Two Silver Springs residents were taken by Care Flight to a Reno hospital following an accident on Highway 95A near Ramsey Weeks Cutoff.

An accident on Highway 95 Alternate near Ramsey Weeks Cutoff in Silver Springs sent two people to the hospital Thursday afternoon.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a box truck driver attempted to make a U-turn from the southbound lanes into the northbound lanes when he turned into a northbound Ford sedan.

The sedan rotated and then skidded off the road and rolled.

The Ford driver and passenger, described as being in their 60s and from Silver Springs, were both conscious and complaining of injuries. They were taken from the scene by helicopter to a Reno hospital as a precaution.

No injuries were reported by the people inside the box truck – one from Henderson, the other from Reno.

Names of those involved in the crash were not immediately available.
