Movie run for history
The “Remarkable Andrew” will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Brewery Arts Center by the Carson City Preservation Coalition.
The 1942 movie staring William Holden was filmed at the Rinckel Mansion on Curry Street and at other locations in Carson City.
“Remarkable Andrew” is the story of Andrew Long, a hyper-efficient small town accountant, who finds a $1,240 discrepancy in the city budget. His superiors try to explain it away. When he insists on pursuing the matter, he’s in danger of being blamed himself.
In his trouble, the spirit of Andrew Jackson, whom he idolizes, visits him and , and in turn, summons much high-powered talent from American history … which only Andrew can see. Can he get out of trouble before too many people think he’s crazy?
The coalition is seeking money to create a museum of Carson City History.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling 882-7599. Soda, wine and popcorn will be available.
