Nevada Appeal at 150: Aug. 22, 1967: Historic coin press returns to Carson

Old No. 5, Carson City’s coin press from the days when the capital city was home to a federal mint, returned today from Denver, Colo. The coin press was to be officially welcomed home at ceremonies this afternoon. Eva Adams, director of the U.S. Mint, and museum curator Judge Clark J. Guild were to preside. The press had been called into service three years ago to help meet a nationwide shortage of coins.
