Nevada Appeal at 150: Nov. 2, 1969: Nevada celebrates birthday with parade

Thousands of Nevadans lined Carson City’s main street to watch the parade in observance of the state’s 105th birthday. The parade attracted more than 200 entries, including marching bands from throughout the state, mounted groups and floats. The theme for this year’s event was “A salute to 105 years of Nevada entertainment,” and the picture illustrates the famous Corbette-Fitzsimmons prize fight.
