Davenport stipulated to a petition in which he admitted embezzling substantial amounts of money from his client.
“We conclude that the documentation before us demonstrates that Davenport poses a substantial threat of serious harm and that his immediate temporary suspension is warranted,” the Supreme Court order states.
Davenport was general counsel to John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks with an office in the resort’s administrative complex.
A spokesman at the Nugget said Davenport is no longer associated with the resort.
The order also prohibits Davenport from withdrawing any funds from his client trust account without written approval of the state bar or a judge.
