Online charter school hosts informational sessions

The Nevada Connections Academy will be holding two informational sessions about the virtual charter school.

One will be 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Starbucks at North Carson Crossing, 3325 Retail Dr. #200.

Parents of Connections Academy students will be there to answer questions from parents who are interested in learning more about virtual education and the school.

Nevada Connections Academy is a virtual public school that provides a high-quality education for K-12 students. It is a teacher directed environment with teachers putting together lesson plans and delivering live lessons over the Internet.

Connection Academy serves students throughout Nevada.

Virtual education is one of the fastest growing trends in education. In Nevada, the school’s enrollment numbers have quadrupled since opening.

Another meeting will be 6:30-8 p.m. May 18 at the Holiday Inn Express, 4055 N. Carson St.
