A new invoice of game hens has been received on the Comstock. It is said people of the area are so enamored of the new birds that they have lost interest in the Lady Bryan swindle. Cock pits have of late become a quite an institution on the Comstock. Sagebrushers have delighted in the ability of Virginia birds to outbest those of San Francisco.

100 YEARS AGO

Carson City to have an up-to-date brewing plant. Max Sten, owner of the famous Santa Cruz brewery, arrived and purchased the holdings of the Carson City Brewing Company. Until the architect submits plans, Sten is bringing in his brew by the carload and will deliver it to you.

70 YEARS AGO

Many of Carson’s basketball enthusiasts don’t know what to think of the Senators and their chances this week. It seems that there isn’t enough of the “never quit” spirit that took Geno Lecioni’s Senators to a state championship the last two years he was at the school.

20 YEARS AGO

Carson City’s $1.7 million outdoor pool is ready for use, as soon as weather cooperates.
