Another runaway – About 4 o’clock last evening, a horse and buggy were crossing the railroad track on Carson and a locomotive whistle startled the horse. It started down Washington street, fouling a post on Nevada street. It left the buggy a wreck … the driver was looking for some spokes and the off fore wheel at 10 o’clock last night.

Society Gossip – The ladies of the Episcopal church are busy making real downy comforters, head-rests for easy chairs to be sold at their festival … which will take place during the last week of November.

Seen, Heard or Thought by E.T.C. – For last year’s Admission Day celebration, residents from Reno made the round trip on the Virginia and Truckee special train … because of the desire to take advantage of what they deemed the last chance to take a journey on trains of a historic railroad … This year they came because it was the best and cheapest mode of transportation.
