M. E. Spooner’s horses ran away with a sleigh full of young ladies while turning the corner near the Presbyterian church where the runners struck a stump. Horses were caught at the North Ward school house.

Department of Energy released a small amount of radioactivity into the atmosphere from an underground tunnel. About six millicuries of radioactive gases were released when the Disco Elm test was detonated … located 100 miles northwest of Las Vegas.

The Golden Spike is renovated (old movie theater) … plans were to turn the building into a Victorian/Western theme retail office center with 20,000 square feet of office space.
