The Mint’s new smoke stack: After tugging away to get the enormous smoke stack in position, it was successfully accomplished without incident.

Col. A. C. Ellis returned from San Francisco and expresses regret that he did not “jump on top of the stock market and bounce it when the north end was selling at fancy prices.”

The most conspicuous feature of the political campaign is the interest taken in it by the Order of Associate Leg Pullers. They organized a brigade of professional leg pullers and then sicked on a lot of immature leg pullers for the sole purpose of compelling Stewart to come to their terms and buy them off, which he refused to do.

New taxi line: Ted Felton and Bob Fletcher have announced a new taxi-service for Carson City and are inviting patronage by the taxi using public. Both are well known and will undoubtedly get a share of the business of this city.

Dan Kelly has converted his Carson City front yard into the North Pole – but this one isn’t as cold. There is Santa, Rudolph and four of his reindeer, a pair of elves. “We are just after the spirit of Christmas for the children. I think we should all do our part to keep up some of the traditions.”
