Pooch problem ” Seven persons have been named to a committee to study the dog problem in Carson City. Named are Mrs. Ernest Barltes, Faye Vonsild, Christine Greene, Ned Turner, Al Hansen, Mrs. Art Bowen and police Sgt. Al Mangler ” created after a renewed plea that something be done about the situation.

Female workers from the Nye Building in Carson City fear for their safety because the have to walk farther distances at night to reach their cars. They were evicted from the parking lot to provide 80 more parking spaces to the public in time for the 1989 legislature.

The Children’s Museum’s future is bright as they receive a $40,000 grant from the E. L. Cord Foundation of Reno. “They have been extremely generous with us over the years,” said museum director Suzi Meehan.
