“Needles,” the calamitous tragedian who more than once has accepted the hospitality of Ormsby county, is again welding his way thitherward. He hails from Truckee, where a recent engagement yielded him $2.05. If he does not meet with the misfortune of the boot of a conductor, we shall see him this morning. Attempts by wealthy San Francisco relatives to keep him out of the gutter are without avail.

The baseball game between the Carson Brewery and the Gardnerville team on the Valley Park diamond resulted in the game going to the visitors 8-7. The Carson team is considering holding a dance to raise money and buy uniforms.

Governor Carville has proclaimed April 11-17 as “China Week” to help raise funds to assist China, which has experienced the horror of five years of war. “The Chinese are a brave and gallant people and deserve the support of all of us,” said Carville.
