Horrible massacre of seven persons (continued from Thursday). As usual, the work of exaggeration had an early start, and from a family of six persons before the arrival of the stage had elapsed had grown to 19 persons. From a letter from Mount Pleasant, we have a letter with the particulars in detail. The first occurred on Thursday evening with the murder of Jess Larsen, in charge of sheep four miles north of Fairview. He had been shot through the neck (continued on Saturday).

Circus men believe in advertising. Every yard of dead wall and other available space in town is embellished with a picture of a scene in the tropics or the Arctic regions, or some daring feat of horsemanship.

An editor once wrote an editorial entitled “The Naked Truth.” The office devil lifted the “T” and made it read “The Naked Ruth,” but it happened in high society and was only an incident of the day. And this just reminds us that down among normal human beings clothing makes the man, and the lack of it makes him stare.
