Editor Daily Appeal — Please allow me through your columns to tender my thanks to both the employees of the Mint and my brother firemen of Curry Engine Company No. 2, for the beautiful presents they have made to me; and to say, that whenever I am thirsty or in want of my regular tobacco, I shall always be reminded of their regard for my comfort, and those who know me best assert that I am often thirsty, and seldom without a chew. In the local columns considerable space is given to a circular from John Alexander, Attorney-General of the State, relative to Nevada's resources. His idea is to bring together for the use of future legislatures all possible data relative to the state and its resources. In order to assist in this matter, the Appeal prints the circular in full.

100 Years Ago

The people of Carson City next Sunday afternoon are going to have the privilege of hearing about the war firsthand. In the Opera House, Captain Leonard Goord, a convalescing British officer, will speak of what he has seen and what he knows from a personal experience. Captain Goord was decorated by King George for bravery. He took part in the battles at Ypres and Lens, and was the only officer of his regiment to come out of the battle of Loos alive.
