The Tombstone Epitaph of a recent date says that Pat Holland calls at the office every day to read the notices of death in all the Nevada and California exchanges. It is the greatest amusement of his life. Pat never looked jollier and tougher. The story of his accident and death was a barefaced canard.

Fred Somers employed on the construction of the electric line between Verdi and Wabuska was in this city yesterday and states there is rapid progress through this area. A team of eight horses is required to pull the single poles up some of the steep pitches. – Chronicle.

Fallonites appeared at the board of highway directors this forenoon to request work on U.S. 50 near Middlegate through Broken Hills to the brucite deposit. Officials have no funds at this time.
