Washoe seeress: Mrs. Bowers most startling prediction is that Superintendent Requa will show up on the Comstock during the summer. The presence of Mr. Requa on the Lode except salary day gives rise to the report that a bonanza has been struck.

Incendiary: The fire alarm last evening was the result of a blaze in the rear of Mrs. Davis’s dressmaking shop. A strong smell of coal oil and a bottle partly filled with fluid gives the appearance of incendiarism. Several suspicious characters have been in the city.
