Pioneer High School students exploring art

Pioneer High School

Students from Pioneer High School perused art at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno on Dec. 6.

Ralph Waldo Emerson asserted, "Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art." Art students from Pioneer High School had an opportunity to survey some of these creations of beauty during a recent field trip.

On Dec. 6, Paul Lorion's art students had the opportunity to explore the work of various artists at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno.

These students, who are also budding artists, were able to view the museum's current exhibitions as well as the permanent collections.

Of the museum trip, Lorion said, "It was a great way to connect the principles and elements of art and design to art history and current student projects. They also engaged in critical discourse about visual design that challenges their developing notions of fine art."

“It was cool to see what people could come up with. Also, I enjoyed learning the stories behind the artwork.”-Walker S,.Pioneer student
